Intro
In Vienna's 7th district, a historic church has been transformed into a visionary architectural project. Dr. Kerstin Ortlechner collaborated with Studio Riebenbauer to create a groundbreaking medical practice that merges the sacred aesthetics of the space with a minimalist, futuristic design.
Background
The challenge was to preserve the building's sacral identity while crafting a functional, state-of-the-art environment. Key design elements include light gray walls, polished aluminum surfaces, and large mirrors, creating a sense of lightness. The entrance is highlighted by striking LED lighting and a sculptural fountain, immersing visitors in a serene and innovative ambiance. Two mirrored aluminum treatment rooms now stand where church pews once were, the former confessional has become a luxurious beauty room, and the altar serves as the reception area.
Dr. Ortlechner describes the project as a dream realized: "Our vision was to create a space that inspires people, provides a sense of tranquility, a safe space, and a place of health, making them forget the world around them."
